Stubs vs Require Hack

Two ways to be compatible POR (plain old require):

• Install library stubs
  • Into the traditional locations
  • And require the gem libraries
• Hack the system require command.
  • Require a minimal rubygems system
  • Find a qualifying gem,
  • Else perform a "normal" require.

RubyGems through 0.7.0 used library stubs. Starting at 0.8.0, RubyGems uses the require hack.
